Hundreds of primary and secondary students from 52 Catholic schools across the Diocese of Parramatta showcased their creative talents in the CAPTIVATE Showcase throughout June, culminating in the ‘Best Of’ performance on Monday 27 June at the Joan Sutherland Centre in Penrith.
CAPTIVATE is the creative and performing arts initiative of Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta.
The annual showcase includes a series of music, dance and strings performances over eight nights (including the ‘Best Of’) highlighting the high calibre of choral, drama, music and dance work from students.
CAPTIVATE Team Leader Mark Hopkins said the showcase was a huge success which not only provides learning and performance experiences for students, but builds expertise and a sense of community across the system.
All the schools can be proud of the continued improvement of the standard in all genres,’ Mark said. ‘The standard has never been so high or so deep.’
‘I thank all the school communities, students, staff and parents, for their to the commitment to the program,’ he said.
CAPTIVATE’s Got Talent will be held in the holiday break at the end of Term 3. It is a mentoring program which provides students with the opportunity to work with industry professionals. Auditions required. For more information: captivate.parra.catholic.edu.au/faq-details/captivates-got-talent
